LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Multiple checks sent through the mail with a Leola zip code were reported stolen to the East Lampeter Township Police Department between December 2021 through March 2022.
According to police, checks were found being altered then deposited into accounts where the writer of the check did not intend to send them.
Investigators gained suspicion that a postal carrier was the responsible for the disappearance and alterations of the checks due to the events surrounding the incidents.
After narrowing down a list of suspects, USPS Office of Inspector General placed a covert camera in the postal vehicle used by Jennesy Rodriguez.
After collecting video of Rodriguez in the postal vehicle over several weeks, investigators discovered Rodriguez numerous times manipulated, opened, and removed mail that was intended for delivery.
