BIG BUTTE — 4B Farm sits nestled on a gentle slope near Big Butte where former Kamiah postmaster Larry Beauchamp tends two large garden plots, fruit orchards, and a greenhouse. The peppers, garlic, squashes, greens, et al, are harvested this fall, and Beauchamp’s ingredients are ready to be turned into Papa Larry’s Tasty Hot Sauce.
For Papa Larry’s fans, not only is the hot sauce fiery and delicious, according to Beauchamp, but they also love the quotes he writes himself for each bottle‘s label. (Example: “In my day, wearing saggy pants meant your baling twine broke.”)
“Some folks want to collect each quote. I think I have 14 now,” he said.
When Beauchamp retired four years ago he began with a simple three-ingredient recipe that he found on the internet.
