LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Areas of Greater Lafayette can go days without receiving a piece of mail, a regular occurrence that those inside the U.S. Postal Service would attribute to a surge in COVID-19.

The postal delivery delays are impacted by more than the coronavirus, workers in Greater Lafayette told the Journal & Courier.

Over the past several weeks, a number of postal workers have reportedly been out due to the virus. There’s also been a labor shortage within the postal service, according to carriers and clerks who spoke with the Journal & Courier.
