To respond to mail theft, vandalizations and check fraud incidents, the Manor Road Post Office removed their drive-through mailboxes, causing a stir among community members.

The issue has some residents around the city waiting weeks longer than they should to get their mail. Residents like Paul Greiner said his entire street of Jungle Road hadn’t gotten their mail in more than a week.

According to court documents, Cody Smith, 19, conspired with five codefendants in 2023 to target U.S. Postal Service letter carriers and steal their Arrow Keys in order to unlawfully open mail boxes in the local area.

On July 21, 2023, a United States Postal Service mail carrier was delivering mail in a residential neighborhood Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  As she attempted to deliver mail, a vehicle driven by Johnson, pulled up next to the mail carrier’s vehicle and Daniels exited the vehicle. Daniel’s approached the mail carrier and pointed a handgun at the mail carrier.
