A Chesterfield mail carrier was injured in an accident on the job but the compensation he received was not nearly enough to cover his expenses. It wasn’t until 8News inquired on his behalf that the U.S. Department of Labor reopened the case.
MONTICELLO — An accident Monday morning sent a Monticello postal carrier to an Indianapolis hospital by helicopter after her vehicle was pushed into the path of an oncoming semi on US 24, at the intersection of State Rd. 39.
Arrested: On Sept. 28, Julio Sosa, 25, of the Bronx, turned himself in for arrest processing following a police pursuit and a car accident involving property damage of more than $250 after which Sosa left the scene of the accident.
Firefighters believe the driver went off the road and ran over two pole mounted road reflectors. Shortly after, the vehicle stopped and caught on fire.
Plaintiff Lewis Price is seeking compensation for damages and expenses after the brakes on postal worker Shyrle Kick’s 2006 Honda CRV failed, causing the vehicle to hit Price while he was on his motorcycle at a stoplight.
According to a Department of Public Safety report issued late Monday afternoon, Morrison was driving a 2022 Chevrolet SUV northbound on U.S. Highway 283 and crossed the center stripe about 1 p.m. Saturday. The driver attempted to correct the SUV’s path but lost control going to the right.
