U.S. Postal Service truck catches fire while the postal worker delivered mail in Niceville

A U.S. Postal Service mail delivery vehicle caught fire outside a home in Niceville.

It happened on the 1600 block of 25th Street near Redwood Avenue in Niceville around 3:30pm on Saturday.

Neighbors tell us the female mail carrier was delivering a package at a home, so she parked in the driveway.

They say when she got back into the mail truck, she noticed it was smoking, so she asked the people at the home to call 911.

The East Niceville Fire department arrived and put out the fire. The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office responded as well.

One woman shot video from her home as the incident unfolded.

Luckily, the delivery driver was not hurt.

An investigation will be launched to determine what caused the vehicle to catch fire, and determine how much mail was damaged.
