Mail Truck fire Covington, GA

A U.S. Postal Service mail truck caught on fire near Taylor Street Southwest and Highway 36 in Covington at about 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, around 5:30 p.m.

The unidentified mail carrier had finished his route prior to the incident and was not hurt, according to the Covington Fire Department.

The fire was caused by “an overheating issue,” April Draper, the CFD accreditation manager, said.
