JOPLIN, Mo. — Several area agencies respond to a mail truck on fire in Joplin this morning.
Emergency crews were called to this scene at 10:40 a.m., on Florida Avenue just north of 24th Street.
Joplin Fire Department Deputy Chief Andy Nimmo says when they arrived, the front of the USPS vehicle was fully involved.
Nimmo says that although the cause of the fire is undetermined, it started somewhere in the engine compartment.
Alongside JFD, the Joplin Police Department, Post Office representatives, and two tow trucks were all at the scene, cleaning up the vehicle and sweeping up remaining debris.
Nimmo says there were no injuries, and the scene was cleared in 30 minutes.
