Boy, 14, Accused Of Pulling Gun On Mail Carrier In Tewksbury

The boy, whose name is being withheld as he is a juvenile, was identified as a suspect Thursday and arrested and taken into custody around 2 p.m. after police found him in Lowell.

The incident occurred in the 400 block of Shawsheen Street just after 11 a.m. Tuesday, after which authorities arrived to find the car speeding on Whipple Road, according to the Tewksbury Police Department.

Police said they followed the car to Tomahawk Drive, “at which point the driver bailed out of the vehicle and ran away” before being last seen by a witness on Nightengale Lane.

Following reports of the incident, a Tewksbury police K-9 recovered a firearm behind a home on Grasshopper Lane, which was believed to be the suspect’s.
