USPS mail carrier robbed at Memphis apartment complex, postal inspector says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A mail carrier was robbed at a Memphis apartment complex Tuesday afternoon, according to a United States Postal Service (USPS) Postal Inspector.

The robbery happened just after noon on January 7 at The Ventura Apartments on Wooddale Avenue, USPS said.

Video released by the postal inspector showed the robber holding a gun on the mail carrier while walking through the apartment complex in broad daylight.

USPS said the robber sped away from the apartment complex in a gray Nissan with white primer paint on the trunk and black passenger’s side quarter panel. The Nissan also had a black rear bumper.

The mail carrier was not injured during the robbery, according to the postal inspector.

If you have any idea who the man responsible for robbing this mail carrier is, USPS urged you to give them a call at 877-876-2455 and reference case number 4448463 or contact the Shelby County CrimeStoppers at 901-528-2274. Any information leading to his arrest could be worth up to $150,000.
