Suspect in postal carrier Aundre Cross’ killing wants to be released for medical treatment

One of four people accused in the shooting death of a postal worker late last year wants to be released from jail to receive medical treatments.

Lawyers for Charles Ducksworth Jr. , 27, say in court papers releasing him to family would ensure he’d have access to the medical care he needs for internal pain and recently developed bleeding. He and Kevin McCaa, 36, were charged with fatally shooting Aundre Cross, who worked for the postal service for 18 years.

Shanelle McCoy, 34, also was charged with providing false statements to law enforcement. In January, a fourth person was charged: Lakisha Ducksworth, 39. She also has been accused of providing false statements.
