Mail truck catches on fire in Frankenmuth, Michigan after driver hits a tree

FRANKENMUTH, Mich. – Frankenmuth Police Department says a mail truck caught fire on Townline Road east of Gera.

According to police, the 21-year-old mail truck driver from Bridgeport Township ran off the road and hit a tree, the vehicle caught fire upon the impact.

The driver was transported to a Saginaw area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
