Man jumps over counter, knocks PA postal worker unconscious for not having a package

A 27-year-old man was arrested Monday after he allegedly assaulted a Marietta Post Office worker.

According to the Susquehanna Regional Police Department, officers responded to the post office on 16 North New Haven Street at 12:56 p.m. for reports of a postal worker lying behind the counter, bleeding.

Officers arrived on scene to find the victim dazed and confused with injuries to the face. The victim reportedly told officers that the suspect, who police identified as James Moore, jumped over the post office counter and punched the victim in the head several times, knocking them unconscious.

Police say the suspect assaulted the worker after he became upset that a package hadn’t yet been delivered.

Moore was still on scene when officers arrived, and he was arrested without incident, police said.
