Man accused of carjacking a mail truck in west Wichita, KS

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) – Wichita police arrested a 28-year-old man over the weekend after he stole a postal worker’s vehicle and led officers on a brief chase.

The incident happened at around noon Saturday near 13th Street North and Zoo Blvd. Police confirmed the report of a carjacking involving a USPS mail truck.
According to WPD spokesperson Andrew Ford, the mail truck was located and a brief pursuit ensued before the suspect was taken into custody.
Sedgwick County Jail records show Ephesus Kago was booked Saturday afternoon for robbery, flee or attempt to elude, interference with law enforcement, and driving while license suspended, canceled or revoked. He remained in jail Tuesday morning.
