Willows postal carrier to retire after 35 years of federal service

WILLOWS, Calif. – After 35 years of dedicated federal service, including 27 years at the Willows Post Office, Reg Boelman is about to clock in for the final time.

The United States Postal Service says Boelman has spent 21 of those 27 years serving the same route, establishing strong connections within the Willows community. On Thursday, Boelman will retire upon the completion of his shift.

A special farewell party will be held for Boelman on the Willows Post Office on West Sycamore Street. Officials say the event will honor his long-standing commitment and contributions to the local community.

Boelman, a native of Willows, transitioned to the Postal Service after his military service, seeking to continue his federal career while enjoying benefits that supported his family life. Throughout his career, he adapted to significant changes, including the rise of online shopping and increased package volumes.
