WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A Wichita woman is praising a mail carrier in her neighborhood for actions she says saved her life.
Linda Avila said it was a normal day until tragedy almost struck.
“I felt like I was going to collapse when I was out mowing the lawn, and so I pushed the mower up to the house, and I got to about the second step and then I kind of collapsed,” said Avila.
Thanks to the quick thinking of a mail carrier named Kendra in her neighborhood, Avila said her life was saved.
“She could tell something was wrong, and she whipped her mail truck around,” Avila said. “She hollered at my neighbor Christy who was a nurse. She told her that I needed help, so Christy grabbed the blood pressure machine and ran over here.”
Avila was taken to the hospital where she would receive treatment from doctors. Now, she wants to give thanks to Kendra for her actions that day.
