VIDEO: Brevard County USPS worker arrested for drinking on the job

A Brevard County U.S. Postal Service employee has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence. She was placed in handcuffs after being pulled over in her mail truck during her delivery route in April.

WESH 2 has obtained exclusive body camera video of the arrest.

“I’m out here with Kate at University and Babcock. She’s going to jail today,” an officer says in the video. “She’s getting arrested today. She is drunk.”

Katelyne Dye, 33, is currently charged with driving under the influence following an April 12 traffic stop.

Melbourne police said she was swerving in and out of lanes before being stopped. Police also said a witness saw her throwing Solo cups out of the window of her mail truck.

After pulling Dye over, Melbourne police conducted a field sobriety test.

Dye said she was delivering mail on Riverview Drive when she was invited in to a party.
