USPS to invest $12 million in Sioux Falls facility

SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) — The United States Postal Service will retain some local mail processing operations in Sioux Falls and invest up to $12.75 million in the Sioux Falls facility, according to a news release from the USPS.

The announcement from USPS comes after officials announced they would shift local mail processing operations to Omaha, Nebraska.

“The Sioux Falls facility will also see changes designed to boost its services, thanks to a previously announced USPS investment of up to $12.75 million,” the USPS said.

According to the release, that means that mail that is collected in Sioux Falls and destined to another address would not leave the region for processing.
