US Postal Service Cancels Plan To Move Mail Processing Out Of Tulsa

The U.S. Postal Service said it is canceling plans to move local mail processing out of Tulsa and to Oklahoma City.

The postal service said their new plan improves operations enabling Tulsa to process mail, instead of sending it to Oklahoma City first.

Local employees will not be impacted since processing will stay in Tulsa.

Tulsa will still up up to $22 million worth of upgrades for facilities.

The upgrades will not start until January after the presidential election and holiday seasons.

The post office’s first regulatory commission still has to approve the new plan.
