The congresswoman is asking the postmaster to prioritize the repair of two of the offices that were closed months ago.

TAMPA, Fla. — A Tampa congresswoman is urging USPS to reopen two locations that have been closed for months following damage from back-to-back hurricanes.

Democratic Rep. Kathy Castor sent a letter to U.S Postmaster General Louis DeJoy asking for his help in restoring operations at two offices in the 14th congressional district, which she represents.

The location in Ruskin at 455 N. US Highway 41 has been closed since Sep. 25, and the location in Town N Country at 7521 Paula Dr. has been closed since Oct. 8 due Hurricanes Helene and Milton, according to Castor’s letter.

“While I appreciate the temporary operations at alternative locations, the needs of my neighbors and business owners who heavily rely on the Ruskin and Town ‘n’ Country post offices are not sufficiently being met,” she wrote. “I strongly urge you to expedite the repair and reopening of the Ruskin and Town ‘n’ Country post offices.”
