The last deal ended on May 20, and a statutory 60-day mediation period ended on July 19, but the National Association of Letter Carriers union (NALC) has continued to meet with USPS for nearly a month without either party declaring an impasse.

The Postal Service is required to convert all city carrier assistants in the identified installations to part-time flexible career status as soon as practicable, but no later than the first day of the second full pay period following the date of the respective agreement.
NALC reported on April 7 that these adjustments were tentatively scheduled for the July 21 paycheck. USPS states the anticipated date for these adjustments will now be the September 1 paycheck.
While discussions on the pay, benefits and working conditions of America’s city letter carriers continue to be productive, the parties have yet to reach tentative agreement.
