A Miami-Dade U.S. Postal Service worker has been released from the hospital after being stabbed Monday afternoon in Biscayne Park, according to police. Around 2:30 p.m. near Northeast 10th Avenue and 117th Street, according to police. The injuries were not life-threatening, but he was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Police have not identified the Postal Service worker.
A person was taken into custody at the scene, but police say that as of Tuesday, no formal arrests have been made. The police are working with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service to investigate the stabbing. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service told Miami Herald news partner CBS Miami that the incident began as a verbal altercation between the postal employee and a person on the street. The confrontation then escalated, resulting in the stabbing.
