A former postal supervisor who once worked at post offices in Somers Point and Sea Isle City admitted that he misused U.S. Postal Service credit cards to make thousands of dollars in personal purchases.
Austin Mahan, 44, of Cape May Court House, pleaded guilty in federal court last week to misappropriating more than $1,000 in postal funds.
He racked up more than $50.000 in charges at six stores, including more than $23,000 in gift cards, according to the complaint.
The purchases included home decor items, home renovation materials, power and handheld tools, tool storage equipment and other personal items.
