Terry Luckey, Jr., 35, pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; during a pretrial hearing last month. As part of the plea agreement, charges of aggravated menacing and having weapons under disability will be dismissed.
Police arrested Luckey last April after a postal worker reported that Luckey threatened him with a gun.
The mailman told police that Luckey pulled up next to him, said, “You know they are killing mailmen around here” while brandishing a handgun, then drove off.
When police pulled over the SUV that Luckey was driving, they reported finding two loaded magazines for a semiautomatic handgun. While there was no gun in the vehicle, police found another magazine and a 9mm handgun on an entrance ramp to Interstate 680, near where Luckey was stopped.
