William Carl Jackson, 36, of Sacramento, was sentenced today to five years and three months in prison for robbing a postal carrier while armed with a dangerous weapon, Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith announced.
According to court documents, Jackson robbed two postal carriers in Sacramento, one on July 11, 2024, and a second on July 31, 2024. During each robbery, he brandished a fake pistol at the victim and then ordered the victim to turn over his postal keys. After taking the victim’s keys, he then fled from the scene on a bicycle. He advertised for sale at least one of the stolen keys after the robbery.
This case was the product of an investigation by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Assistant U.S. Attorney Elliot C. Wong prosecuted the case.
