Postal Carrier Hits Fire Hydrant, Floods Altadena Street in Afternoon Incident

A postal vehicle struck a fire hydrant at the intersection of E Crary St and N Harding Ave in Altadena around 4:40 pm Thursday, Sept. 4, causing significant flooding in the area.

Authorities quickly responded to the scene, where the mail carrier’s vehicle was found partially submerged in water due to the ruptured hydrant.

No injuries have been reported. Emergency crews are working to shut off the water and assess the extent of the damage. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
