Post card that took 64 years to arrive in Levittown to be featured on CBS

A Bucks County Courier Times story about a Miami Beach post card that took 64 years to reach its destination in Levittown will be featured on CBS News.

“They loved the story and wanted to do it, so (it’s) good news,” said Dave Marable, who obtained the post card from a neighbor in the Snowball Gate section of Levittown.

The post card had been sent from the Ocean Surf Motel in Miami Beach to “Mrs. E. Muddiman” of Steeplebush Road in August 1960. Marable sleuthed around, but found that Mrs. Muddiman is deceased. He was unable to find relatives who may live in the area.

The card advertised the hotel’s summer rates of $1.50 a day per person, double occupancy, with “Oceanfront and Aircond. rooms slightly higher … New – Modern – Superb” it boasted. “Write for Brochure … Free Parking — Pool Privileges.”
