CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) – A woman from Cedar Falls is dead after officials say she was hit by a mail delivery truck.

The United States Postal Service has delivered its nine billionth mailpiece of the 2025 holiday season in West Hartford.

For 250 years, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service has safeguarded the nation’s postal system, protecting the mail, keeping employees safe and ensuring that mail and packages are delivered securely.

The Postal Service objected to the PRC’s information request — as it had done several times previously — arguing that the advisory opinion docket on DFA had ended in January of this year — “together with the Postal Service’s duty to furnish information in furtherance of its aims.”

While delivering mail in Marlborough, MA, recently, Letter Carrier Chad Wiggin encountered an older customer who had fallen onto the concrete walkway in front of his home.

The United States Postal Service has reached a pivotal moment. Challenged by technological disruptions and constrained by outdated regulations, it is in the midst of a major restructuring plan to modernize operations, achieve service excellence and survive financially.
