The Harvest USPS facility is overwhelmed with packages left exposed to the elements, echoing issues seen in Owens Cross Roads that led to congressional involvement.
HARVEST, Ala. — A U.S. Postal Service facility in Harvest has become overrun with packages, with boxes piling up along the entire side of the building and sitting exposed to the elements for days at a time.
The post office, located at 9157 Wall Triana Highway, near the intersection with Harvest Road, has run out of indoor space to store incoming packages — including typical USPS shipments, as well as those from Amazon and eBay.
On Tuesday, FOX54 found packages left sitting in the rain. On Wednesday, they were dry under the summer sun. And the backlog appears to be growing, with new arrivals daily.
