Case of man charged with shooting Everett postal worker moved to federal court

The state court case against a man accused of shooting a postal carrier in Everett has been dismissed after federal prosecutors filed new charges against him in U.S. District Court.

According to court records unsealed this week, Blake Kuhlman, 27, is now charged with attempted murder of a federal employee, assault of a federal employee, and using a firearm during a crime of violence.

Everett police arrested Kuhlman on October 3, 2025, while responding to a shooting at the West Mall Place Apartments.

According to the charges, Kuhlman was delivering Amazon packages when he got into an altercation with a U.S. Postal Service (USPS) letter carrier in the mailroom of the apartment complex.
