DENVER (KDVR) — The third person involved with a 2023 robbery and assault of a U.S. Postal Service worker has been sentenced, prosecutors announced Tuesday.

Elijah Woods, 22, was given a 27-month sentence on Oct. 1 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault with intent to rob a USPS letter carrier. His sentence is the shortest handed down in the case, with defendants Dravell Ross and Marquis Taylor having been sentenced to four years in prison and 46 months in prison, respectively.

According to Woods’ plea agreement, Woods, Ross and Taylor committed a “strongarm robbery of a letter carrier” in September 2023 in Aurora. The carrier was taking a lunch break inside a delivery vehicle.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service said that the trio stole various pieces of mail, packages and a postal scanner.
