New London Postal Carrier Delivered Mail While Intoxicated

NEW LONDON, CT — A postal carrier is facing charges that he was delivering mail while under the influence, according to police.

Police stopped a U.S. Postal Service van Jan. 2 at 3:45 p.m. in the area of Lincoln Avenue and Clover Court for a motor vehicle violation and reported reckless operation.

Officers believed the driver, Christopher Clark, 39, of New London, was showing signs of being intoxicated.

He was arrested and police said they found drugs and other illegal contraband on him.

Clark was found with three crack pipes, cocaine, and brass knuckles, The Day of New London reported.
