National Association of Letter Carriers to host rally in support of new senate bill

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WREX) – The local chapter of the National Association of Letter Carriers is set to host a rally in support of a new senate bill.

The bill is H.R. 7629 / S. 4356 or better know as the “Protect Our Letter Carriers Act.”

The rally aims to urge law makers to make the bill law.

The bill aims to have harsher sentences for those who threaten, assault or rob postal workers.

Any assault or robbery of a postal worker will be treated as a assault on a police officer.
