NALC election installs new “reform” officials to oversee USPS contract arbitration and historic cuts

James Henry of the Concerned Letter Carriers (CLC) slate won control of the top offices of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) in the October 23 election, as the US Postal Service prepares sweeping attacks on postal jobs, routes and working conditions.

Henry will replace Brian Renfroe in December and take responsibility for imposing a new national contract without a vote through binding arbitration which NALC officials have already begun. The previous contract, which had a start date retroactive to 2023, expired May 22 of this year.
