Mail truck crashes, catches fire on bridge in West Virginia

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. (WBOY) — A driver was flown to the hospital Friday morning after a mail truck crash in Mason County.

The crash happened on the Sixteenmile Creek Bridge on US 35 in Mason County around 5 a.m. and involved a tractor trailer carrying mail, according to a press release from the West Virginia Division of Highways (DOH). Officials said the truck “jumped the parapet wall, plummeted to the ground below and burst into flames.”

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital by helicopter.
