HAMPDEN — An investigation is underway into what officials are calling a “hazmat incident” at the USPS Processing and Distribution Center in Hampden.
According to reports from the Hampden Fire Department, crews responded to 16 meadow drive around 4:30 p.m. Firefighters say they were on scene for around five hours before concluding there was no concern or threat to the public.
According to the Hampden Director of Public Safety Christian Bailey, an investigation is underway by the U.S. Postal Inspector.
We reached out to a spokesperson for USPS Sunday morning and have yet to receive a response.
