WEST HARRISON, Ind. (WKRC) – Residents in the small town of West Harrison have been grappling with mail delivery problems for months.
Those living on Mill Street recently received a stack of mail, with some of the items dating back months or longer.
One of the residents expressed frustration, saying he has been unable to get answers from the post office about the delay or the sudden delivery of the old mail. The issue extends beyond Mill Street. The West Harrison Police Department, located a few blocks away, has also experienced misdelivered mail, which has ended up at a nearby bar.
A worker at the bar noted that tenants in the apartments above have faced similar issues, with mail left unsorted in a bin. While most of the delayed mail was junk, some important documents were affected. Residents remain hopeful that the problem has been resolved and will not recur.
A spokesperson for the USPS Office of the Inspector General, which investigates these types of issues, said there are no ongoing investigations into the matter.
