Grafton mail carrier delivers 100 birthday cards to senior in honor of his 100th birthday

GRAFTON, Wis. (CBS 58) — Michelle Kuenn is a letter carrier for the Grafton Post Office.

A spry and active senior named Bob Charles lives on her route.

They’ve gotten to know each other over time, and when Michelle found out that Bob was turning 100 years old in August, she was not going to let that birthday go unrecognized.

Michelle started delivering birthday cards to Bob – one each day – for the 100 days leading up to his birthday. Each card had a different message. Each card was encouraging and friendly. And Bob tells us that each card made his day.

“You can notice the stickers that she put on all the cards. It wasn’t just that she wrote the card. She put stickers on each and every one,” said Bob.

“Bob’s a nice guy,” Michelle said. “We talk often, when the weather’s nice and he’s out, and we chat a little bit when I’m walking into the building. And I don’t know, it doesn’t take much to make someone else’s day better.”

In our opinion, the Reclassified Financial Statements referred to above present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the Postal Service as of September 30, 2025, and its net costs and changes in net position for the year then ended in accordance with United States (U.S.) Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
