KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Tia Yates feels like she’s been screaming from the rooftops about issues inside U.S. Postal Service.
“I’ve contacted everybody,” she said. “Nothing ever happens.”
Yates worked at the Kansas City, Missouri distribution center for 11 years. She was what you’d call a “career” U.S. Postal Service employee.
“It’s heartbreaking because the job is a great job and it’s fun,” said Yates.
She said one of the reasons Postal Service customers are seeing their packages bounce around the metro is the same reason she no longer works there after more than a decade.
“It’s a management problem,” she said. “I’ve literally been one of the people who have actually done the count in the yard and saw that there were trailers full of mail that had already been processed but had been sitting there because management forgot that it was on the lot.”
She said it’s so disorganized inside the Kansas City, Missouri distribution center that at one point, she could barely walk because of how overloaded with packages it was.
