Family looks for answers after USPS loses 100+ Christmas cards

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – It’s becoming more and more common to have packages or letters lost in the mail and one local man said his family recently fell victim to that issue and said he has lost all faith in the safety of the postal system.

It’s been 39 days since one local Toledo man mailed more than 100 copies of his family’s Christmas cards to family and friends.

“I took them to the post office at Holland Sylvania and Bancroft and I put them in one of the blue bins at the post office and I thought I was good,” said the Toledo man who wished to remain anonymous.

The man later learned that even though he put the cards in the blue bins, not one of his family members or friends had received the cards.

“I’m out 100 stamps, I’m out 100 shutter fly cards and 100 of our family and friends think we don’t care this year,” said the man.

After talking to family and friends, he decided to call the post office, but the cards were nowhere to be found and USPS was unable to give the man any answers.

“He was referring it to a postal inspector and the postal inspector would get in touch with me,” said the man. “To this day, that’s not happened.”

Now, all the man and his family are left with are questions.

“It’s just frustrating for me,” said the man. “I’ve lost confidence in the postal system.”
