The Postal Service is reminding employees and contractors to report suspected phishing emails promptly to protect the organization’s network from cyberattacks.

Phishing emails are attempts by scammers posing as legitimate people or institutions to lure recipients into providing sensitive data such as credit card details, personally identifiable information and passwords.

Such emails are one of the biggest cybersecurity threats the organization faces.

To report a suspected phishing email, select the message and click the “Report to CyberSafe” button on the Outlook toolbar. The button can be installed if it is missing.

BlueTube video explains the email reporting process.

If a reported email is found to be a phishing attempt, it will be deleted from every USPS mailbox that received it.

The CyberSafe at USPS Blue and LiteBlue pages have more information on cybersecurity.
