Dog owner indicted for attack that seriously injured postal worker

The Jasper County grand jury has indicted a man in connection with a vicious dog attack that seriously injured a postal worker in Jasper County, according to our media partner, KJAS.

The grand jury indicted Jordan Aaron Cormier, 30, of Jasper, on two counts of Attack by Dog Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.

Cormier owned two dogs that attacked U.S. Postal Service mail carrier Tamara Hartford on March 19 outside a home on County Road 110-A in the Curtis Community.

Hartford had stepped out of her vehicle to place a package on the front porch of the house.

Jasper County Deputy Daniel Coons was at a nearby house when he heard Hartford screaming. Coons stopped the attack by shooting both dogs. One died instantly and the other ran away wounded and was later found alive.
