Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said the fire was reported at 6:54 a.m. in the 1100 block of Forest Glen Court SE. When firefighters responded, the passenger area of a United States Postal Service truck was on fire.

The truck hit a pole and burst into flames around 9 a.m. today, according to the CHP traffic log. The driver was able to escape the vehicle with minor injuries, the CHP said.
