Baring, Missouri post office open after tornado damage two years ago

BARING, Mo. (WGEM) – A Knox County, Missouri post office destroyed by a tornado almost two years ago is now back open for business.

An EF-2 tornado tore through Baring in August 2023, causing considerable damage and destruction to its post office.

IDK café owner Shannon Downing bought the former post office last April to keep it running.

It’s located at the same spot at 400 Main St.

The post office will be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. To 11:30 a.m., and on Saturday’s from 8 to 8:45 a.m., according to its website.
