The APWU and the Postal Service have agreed to a moratorium on grievances, disciplinary actions and arbitration hearings at the National, Regional, State and Local levels from July 8 through July 22, 2024, due to the 2024 APWU Biennial Convention, Industrial Relations Director Charlie Cash has announced. The period spans a total of 15 days.

According to the agreement, all grievances, disciplinary actions, and arbitration hearings at the National, Regional, State and Local levels that would normally occur during that time will be extended for a period of fifteen (15) days beyond those specified in the National Agreement. In addition, suspensions that would otherwise be served because no grievance had been filed within 14 days or because no appeal had been filed to the next step of the grievance-arbitration procedure will be deferred for the 15-day extension period. Furthermore, no arbitrations will be scheduled between July 8 and July 22, 2024. The Postal Service also agreed via email that the moratorium would apply to the National Postal Professional Nurses (NPPN), Information Technology/Accounting Services (IT/AS), and the HRSSC Human Resources Shared Service Center (HRSSC) agreements as well.
