Your Amazon delivery could be delayed due to a failed contract agreement between Amazon and the United States Postal Service. Amazon is considered the postal service’s biggest customer, but sources say the e-commerce giant has been reducing shipments through USPS and may cut them by two-thirds.
This change could take place in September, when the current contract between the retailer and the postal service ends. If this were to happen, the delivery of Amazon packages could be significantly impacted.
However, negotiations between Amazon and USPS are still ongoing, per Reuters. “I couldn’t tell you where that’s going to end,” U.S. Postmaster General David Steiner said, citing a confidentiality agreement while declining to comment on the size of shipment reductions.
