ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A United States Postal Service facility in South Fulton avoided a scare on Thursday.

The facility was evacuated at 125 Villanova Drive in South Fulton when workers saw a “suspicious device” and called authorities.

The Atlanta Police Department’s bomb squad safely removed the package shortly before 10 a.m. from the building for evaluation.

The item was taken to a secondary location where it was determined to be a “real explosive,” police said. It is unknown what type of explosive this was.
