The indictment alleged that Munafo, a former postal worker, filmed the same woman at three locations in Albany and Colonie between July and October 2023. Munafo was accused of filming the woman in Albany near Columbia Circle East Drive, Washington Avenue Extension and White Pine Drive. He was also charged with filming the woman five times at the Karner Road Post Office in Colonie.
The person, who worked with Munafo for two decades, reported Munafo to Colonie police on Oct. 24, 2023, after allegedly catching him as he recorded underneath her clothing at work, the district attorney’s office has said. Munafo turned himself in to police in January 2024 on a charge of unlawful surveillance dating back to Oct. 16, 2023, according to a news release from the district attorney’s office.
Munafo was previously charged with 11 counts of second-degree unlawful surveillance and pleaded not guilty in April. Prosecutors offered a deal at the time that would have required Munafo to serve between one to three years on the unlawful surveillance charges, his attorney told the Times Union in April.
