Man arrested for robbery after targeting postal worker

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A man is now in custody for allegedly robbing a postal worker who was working delivering mail.

The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD), in partnership with the United States Postal Service and the Hampton Police Department (HPD), arrested the suspect in connection to the robbery that occurred on July 11 on Dandelion Crescent in Virginia Beach.

Investigators say on that day a man, later identified as Cameron Hunter Brown, 27, of Portsmouth walked up to the postal worker, took out a gun, and robbed the worker.

During an investigation, VBPD detectives used Flock license plate reader technology and security cameras to identify and locate the suspect’s car in Hampton, Virginia. On July 17, officers located the car along with Brown, who they arrested and charged with felony evade & elude, felon in possession of a gun, possession of a stolen gun, reckless handling of a gun, and possession of a machine gun.
