Here are the best and worst states and districts for USPS mail delivery

(Gray News) – The United States Postal Service’s Inspector General shared its service performance report for its 2nd quarter of 2024.

The service performance report shows the best and worst states and districts for USPS mail delivery. The target percentage score is 93.

The top 10 USPS mail delivery districts are five of the six districts in California, one of Pennsylvania’s two districts, one of New York’s three districts, Hawaii, one of Florida’s three districts and one of three districts in Texas.

All of those districts had percentage scores between 91 and 94. Four of the top 10 districts scored above the target score of 93.

The 10 districts at the bottom include Georgia, which ranked the lowest with a score of 63.70. The others are Wisconsin, Virginia, both districts in Illinois, one of three districts in Texas, Kansas-Missouri, one of New York’s three districts, Minnesota-North Dakota and Massachusetts-Rhode Island.

The scores are based on First Class Single Piece mail arriving on time with a two-day service standard.

The national average is a score of 86.8.
